Product Overview
A393 reinforcement mesh with 10mm high-tensile bars set at 200mm centres, for heavy-duty concrete reinforcement.
A393 is a standard BS 4483 mesh (393g per m²) designed to provide structural reinforcement in industrial slabs, walls, and flooring systems where high strength and durability are essential.
When placed on spacers or chairs and embedded within at least 200mm of freshly poured concrete, the mesh bonds with the curing material to create a composite structure.
By distributing both compressive and tensile stresses, it significantly improves rigidity, reduces long-term cracking, and ensures even load distribution across large-scale pours.
Each sheet measures 2000mm x 3600mm, providing convenient handling while maintaining full reinforcement coverage. For continuity of reinforcement, sheets should be overlapped by at least one square (200mm) and tied securely with wire.
Features & Benefits
- A393 designation: Indicates a nominal weight of 393g/m², defining it as a heavy-duty mesh suitable for industrial concrete reinforcement.
- High tensile steel construction: Improves resistance to cracking, structural movement, and load stresses.
- Bonds with curing concrete: Creates a composite material that distributes stresses effectively.
- Resistance welded intersections: Enhances strength and durability at every joint.
- Heavy-duty reinforcement format: Provides strength for industrial slabs, roadways, and retaining walls.
- 10mm diameter reinforcement: Ensures tensile performance in concrete with a minimum thickness of 200mm.
-
2000mm x 3600mm sheet size: Practical dimensions for site handling while maintaining reinforcement coverage.
Applications
- Concrete slabs (200mm+ thick): Provides effective reinforcement for heavy-duty slabs, preventing shrinkage cracking and improving load-bearing capacity.
- Roadways and parking areas: Distributes loads across high-traffic concrete surfaces.
- Industrial floors and foundations: Enhances load-bearing capacity and controls structural cracking.
-
Heavy-duty retaining walls: Improves tensile performance and long-term stability.
Installation Guidance
- Place on supports: Position mesh correctly within the slab depth for effective reinforcement.
- Tie overlaps: Secure adjoining sheets to maintain continuity and prevent displacement.
-
Maintain cover: Ensure adequate concrete cover to protect against corrosion and comply with standards.
Compliance & Performance
- High tensile reinforcement steel: Manufactured to BS 4483:2005 specifications.
- Meets BS 4449:2005 standards: Ensures compliance for reinforcement steel.
- Fully CE-certified: Approved for use in reinforced concrete applications.
- Resistance welded intersections: Guarantees strength and durability throughout the mesh.
