Product Overview
Moisture resistant MDF board, measuring 12mm thick and sized 2440mm x 1220mm (8' x 4'). This high-density engineered panel is designed for interior environments exposed to humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.
Manufactured with moisture-repellent resins, the board provides improved performance compared with standard MDF, resisting swelling and distortion in humid conditions. Its uniform composition ensures clean machining, making it suitable for CNC routing and bespoke joinery.
The smooth surfaces accept paint, laminate, or veneer for decorative finishes.
Features & Benefits
- Moisture resistant: Enhanced with resins to withstand humid indoor conditions.
- Smooth finish: Sanded surfaces ready for paint, veneer, or laminate.
- Reliable machining: Consistent fibre structure cuts cleanly with hand tools or CNC.
- Stable construction: Resists warping and swelling in humid areas.
- Cost-efficient: Affordable option for humidity-prone interior projects.
- Large sheet size: 2440mm x 1220mm format for broad coverage.
- Nominal thickness 12mm: Balanced weight and strength for versatile use.
Applications
- Kitchen and utility joinery: 12mm core provides a moisture-resistant substrate for cabinet back-panels, drawer bottoms, and light-duty shelving in areas prone to ambient steam.
- Bathroom furniture and vanities: Moisture-resistant resins prevent dimensional instability in internal partitions and decorative fascias when correctly primed and finished.
- Skirting boards and architraves: Low-profile 12mm core allows for precision machining of narrow decorative patterns that remain stable in kitchens and bathrooms.
- Interior wall panelling: Lightweight substrate provides a smooth, paintable surface for wall cladding and wainscoting in residential areas.
- Boiler housings and boxing-in: 12mm thickness is used for concealing pipework and boilers where minimal footprint is required during installation.
- Bespoke furniture making: Homogeneous core construction allows for intricate machining for small-scale internal joinery and storage solutions.
Installation Guidance
- Preparation: Store flat in dry conditions; acclimatise before use.
- Cutting: Use sharp saw blades or CNC machines for precise edges.
- Fixing: Secure with appropriate screws, glue, or nails.
- Finishing: Apply primer before painting or decorative finishing.
- Environment: Suitable for humid, but not wet, interior conditions.
Compliance & Performance
