Product Overview
Ratchet Strap with a 50mm webbing width, 8m length, and 5 tonne rated load capacity.
Each strap is constructed from high-tensile polyester webbing engineered for low stretch under sustained tension, maintaining constant hold and preventing load movement under vibration or road impact.
The steel ratchet mechanism allows controlled application of force with quick release when unloading. Zinc-plated claw hooks provide reliable anchorage to lashing points and resist corrosion in outdoor use.
Heavy-duty strap offering superior load restraint for plant, machinery, and large structural goods in transport.
Features & Benefits
- High-strength polyester webbing: Durable, low-stretch material maintains tension and resists abrasion during use.
- Precision ratchet mechanism: Allows controlled tightening with secure locking to prevent slippage.
- Zinc-plated steel fittings: Corrosion-resistant hooks and ratchet handle for long-term reliability.
- Load-rated capacity: Clearly marked working load limit (WLL) for safe and traceable use.
- Quick-release design: Enables easy tension release and strap removal after securing.
- Load capacity and reach: Heavy-duty strap rated to 5 tonnes with an 8m length, delivering secure restraint for large machinery and industrial transport.
Applications
- Vehicle load restraint: Securing goods on trailers, vans, and flatbeds.
- Site transport and logistics: Safe restraint of pallets, machinery, or equipment in transit.
- Storage and warehousing: Prevents load movement during stacking or temporary holding.
- DIY and domestic use: Useful for moving household goods, garden equipment, or leisure items.
- Load-specific suitability: Provides secure restraint for heavy machinery, structural goods, and industrial transport.
Installation Guidance
- Inspection: Check strap and ratchet for wear, damage, or corrosion before use.
- Anchoring: Hook or loop securely to rated anchor points on both sides of the load.
- Tensioning: Use the ratchet handle to tighten evenly until secure; avoid over-tensioning which may damage the load.
- Release: Pull the release lever fully to disengage the ratchet mechanism before unthreading the strap.
- Maintenance: Store dry, avoid sharp edges and chemical exposure to prolong strap life.
Compliance & Performance
- Webbing material: High-tenacity polyester (PES).
- Breaking strength: Typically 2× the working load limit (WLL) in accordance with BS EN 12195-2.
- Fittings: Zinc-plated or painted steel hooks and ratchet handle assembly.
- Temperature range: –40 °C to +100 °C service range.
- Identification: All straps marked with rated capacity, length, and standard compliance.
- Important note: Always select a strap with an appropriate WLL for the load being secured. Replace immediately if frayed, cut, or damaged.
