Product Overview
Everbuild Everflex 500 Bath & Sanitary Silicone in Clear, supplied in a 295ml cartridge. This premium acetoxy-cure silicone sealant provides a high-strength, permanently flexible and waterproof joint for sanitary and high-humidity environments.
Engineered as a mid modulus formulation, it offers strong adhesion to smooth, non-porous materials including glass, ceramics, PVCu, enamel, and metal surfaces. A built-in fungicidal additive prevents mould and mildew formation, maintaining long-term cleanliness and visual integrity in wet areas.
The sealant cures rapidly to form a resilient, elastic joint with high elongation and reliable movement capability of ±20%.
Clear formulation provides a discreet, transparent joint line suitable for glass, acrylic, and light-coloured sanitary surfaces, supplied in a 295ml volume.
Features & Benefits
- Premium acetoxy cure formulation: Ensures a quick-curing, durable seal with strong adhesion to glass, enamel, ceramics, and PVCu.
- Fungicidal protection: Contains a powerful anti-mould agent that inhibits fungal growth in humid or continuously wet conditions.
- Permanently flexible: Maintains elasticity and integrity through joint movement up to ±20% without cracking or loss of adhesion.
- High tensile performance: Provides a tensile strength of 1.2 MPa and elongation at break greater than 500% for long-term joint reliability.
- Temperature stability: Withstands service temperatures from -40°C to +150°C, ensuring consistent performance in bathroom and kitchen environments.
- Clean finish: Will not discolour with age, retaining a bright white appearance in damp or humid settings.
- Clear 295ml size: Provides coverage of approximately 10 linear metres on a 9mm x 9mm fillet joint, ideal for transparent or light-surface sealing in wet areas.
Applications
- Sanitary sealing: Ideal for sealing around baths, showers, basins, and other sanitaryware exposed to moisture.
- High-humidity environments: Designed for internal areas subject to condensation, including bathrooms and kitchens.
- Worktops and laminates: Suitable for sealing between countertops and walls to prevent water ingress.
- Frame sealing: For capping joints to metal, timber, and PVCu window frames in interior settings.
- Panel and trim fixing: Acts as an adhesive for securing PVCu trims, panels, and profiles.
- General waterproofing: Effective for interior weatherproofing and moisture barrier applications.
Installation Guidance
- Surface preparation: Ensure all substrates are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or old sealant residues. Porous materials may require priming; always test adhesion on a small area.
- Joint design: Adhere to recommended joint ratios, maintaining a maximum depth of 50% of joint width. Use backer rod or expanding foam to control depth where required.
- Application method: Cut the cartridge tip, attach the nozzle, and trim at a 45° angle to suit joint width. Apply with a standard sealant gun using steady pressure for a continuous bead.
- Tooling: Smooth the sealant within 10 minutes using a wetted spatula or tool to ensure full adhesion and a clean joint line.
- Cleaning: Remove uncured sealant with white spirit; cured sealant should be removed with Everbuild Silicone Eater.
