Product Overview
Everbuild Premium+ 450 Builders Silicone supplied in a 300ml cartridge is a low modulus, neutral cure silicone sealant engineered for general construction, perimeter, and façade applications.
It provides excellent adhesion to a wide range of building materials including glass, metal, wood, PVCu, and polycarbonate, forming a durable, flexible, and weather-resistant joint. The non-corrosive formulation ensures compatibility with sensitive metals such as copper, zinc, and lead, while maintaining long-term elasticity under movement conditions up to ±25%.
Ideal for internal and external perimeter pointing, expansion joints, and panel sealing, it performs reliably in all building environments.
The brown colour offers a warm, complementary tone for use with timber, brick, and darker architectural finishes.
Features & Benefits
- Neutral Cure Formulation: Non-corrosive chemistry suitable for use on metal, glass, and composite substrates without surface damage.
- Low Modulus Flexibility: Accommodates joint movement up to ±25% for reliable long-term sealing in dynamic joints.
- High Adhesion Strength: Bonds securely to glass, metals, plastics, wood, and painted or coated surfaces without priming in most cases.
- Weather and UV Resistant: Maintains flexibility and appearance under long-term external exposure and temperature variations.
- Paint Compatibility: Resistant to plasticiser migration, suitable for use with both water-based and solvent-based paints.
- Brown Colour Finish: Provides a rich, natural joint line ideal for use with timber frames, brickwork, and brown-toned cladding systems.
Applications
- Perimeter Pointing: For sealing around PVCu, timber, and metal window and door frames, both internally and externally.
- Expansion Joints: Suitable for general building joints requiring long-term flexibility and weather durability.
- Panel and Façade Sealing: Used for sealing joints between pre-formed panels and building elements.
- Roof and Parapet Sealing: Ideal for waterproofing junctions and terminations on parapets, flashings, and roofing systems.
- Glazing Applications: Suitable for glass-to-glass, glass-to-aluminium, and glazing repair work.
- Metal and Leadwork: For sealing joints in soft metals including lead, copper, and zinc without corrosion risk.
Installation Guidance
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are dry, clean, and free from dust, oil, or loose material prior to application.
- Priming: Generally not required; if adhesion is uncertain, test a small area before full use.
- Application Method: Apply using a standard sealant gun; cut nozzle to the joint width and tool within 10 minutes for a smooth finish.
- Joint Design: Depth should not exceed 50% of the joint width; use backer rod where necessary.
- Finishing: Smooth with a wetted spatula to ensure full joint contact and a neat appearance.
- Cleaning: Remove uncured material with white spirit; cured material must be removed mechanically.
Compliance & Performance
- Material Type: Neutral cure, low modulus silicone rubber.
- Movement Capability: ±25% for expansion and contraction tolerance.
- Temperature Resistance: Suitable for use in typical construction environments and exterior exposures.
- Weathering Resistance: Excellent UV and moisture stability for long-term outdoor use.
- Adhesion Performance: Bonds effectively to glass, wood, metals, PVCu, and composite materials.
