Product Overview
Evo-Stik Contact Adhesive supplied in a 250ml tin. A high-tack, solvent-based contact adhesive designed for instant, permanent bonding of a wide range of materials including laminates, wood, metal, and plastics.
Formulated for interior use, it delivers rapid adhesion without the need for clamping or additional support. The adhesive forms a tough, resilient bond capable of withstanding stress, impact, and limited exposure to moisture, making it suitable for furniture assembly, flooring installation, and general repair tasks.
The 250ml tin provides a practical quantity for both trade and maintenance applications, maintaining usability for up to twelve months from the date of manufacture.
Features & Benefits
- High-Tack Formula: Provides immediate adhesion on contact, removing the need for clamping or fixing pressure.
- Strong Bond Strength: Creates a durable joint between porous and non-porous materials, including metal-to-metal surfaces.
- Versatile Compatibility: Bonds effectively with wood, laminate, rubber, leather, PVC, cork, and similar materials used in interior fabrication and repair.
- Resilient Performance: Forms a bond that resists impact, vibration, and minor thermal movement in bonded assemblies.
- Convenient Storage: Supplied in a sealed tin that preserves adhesive performance for up to 12 months under normal storage conditions.
- Measured Capacity – 250ml: Suitable for small to medium repair, fitting, and assembly tasks where precision bonding is required.
Applications
- Furniture Assembly: Provides a secure bond between laminate and wood panels during fabrication or repair.
- Flooring Installation: Used for fixing edge trims, skirtings, or laminate overlays in interior flooring systems.
- General Repairs: Effective for re-bonding loose materials such as rubber seals, veneer trims, or decorative panels.
- Interior Fabrication: Suitable for assembly of display units, worktops, and other internal fixtures.
- Multi-Material Bonding: Bonds dissimilar materials such as metal, glass, leather, cork, and ceramic in workshop or maintenance environments.
Installation Guidance
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, or release agents.
- Adhesive Application: Apply evenly to both surfaces using a spreader or brush, ensuring full coverage across the bonding area.
- Tack Time: Allow solvent to evaporate until the surface becomes touch dry before pressing components together.
- Bonding Process: Position accurately, then apply firm, even pressure across the entire surface to achieve full contact adhesion.
- Curing Period: Leave undisturbed for a minimum of 24 hours to achieve full bond strength before applying load or stress.
Compliance & Performance
- Composition: Solvent-based contact adhesive formulated with synthetic rubber and resin for strong, permanent adhesion.
- Performance Characteristics: Delivers high initial grab with long-term resistance to mechanical stress, vibration, and minor moisture ingress.
- Application Environment: Designed for interior use in dry, well-ventilated conditions; not recommended for continuous water exposure.
- Shelf Life: 12 months from manufacture when stored in original sealed container between 5°C and 25°C.
