Bostik SBR is a modified styrene-butadiene copolymer latex designed to improve the performance of cement-based mixes. It functions as a bonding agent, primer, and waterproofing additive, significantly enhancing adhesion, flexibility, and resistance to water ingress.
The formulation toughens and densifies mortars, screeds, and renders, improving their durability and resistance to abrasion and chemical attack. When incorporated correctly, it produces stronger, more water-resistant surfaces ideal for both internal and external applications.

Installation Guidance
- Surface preparation: All surfaces must be sound, clean, and free from contaminants such as dust, oil, or laitance before application.
- Bonding slurry mixing: Combine cement and Bostik SBR to a stiff, brushable consistency and apply to damp, pre-wetted substrates.
- Mix proportioning: Use within the manufacturer’s recommended mix ratios to achieve the required strength and flexibility.
- Application timing: Apply new mortar, render, or screed while the bonding slurry remains tacky to ensure a monolithic bond.
- Water control: Do not over-dilute with water, as this can reduce film formation and waterproofing performance.
- Curing: Protect freshly applied mixes from rapid drying and frost to ensure full curing and optimal mechanical strength.
