Product Overview
Everbuild Tecnic Silicone 825 Anthracite supplied in a 380ml cartridge is a low modulus, neutral cure, alkoxy-based silicone sealant designed for professional construction, glazing, and façade applications.
It provides exceptional adhesion to both porous and non-porous substrates, including glass, aluminium, uPVC, polycarbonate, and wood, without the need for primer in most cases. Its high viscosity, non-slump formulation ensures precise bead control during application and excellent tooling for large joint installations.
Once cured, it maintains flexibility and performance under dynamic movement, with a ±35% movement capability and long-term resistance to weathering and UV exposure.
The silicone also demonstrates excellent chemical resistance to fumed hydrogen peroxide and formaldehyde, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments.
The anthracite colour provides a subtle, modern finish that complements grey and metallic frame systems.
Features & Benefits
- Low Modulus Neutral Cure Formulation: Provides high flexibility and low stress on substrates, ideal for perimeter and expansion joints.
- Excellent Adhesion: Bonds to glass, metals, uPVC, plastics, wood, and coated surfaces without the need for priming in most cases.
- Weather and UV Resistant: Long-lasting performance for external façades and glazing under extended weather exposure.
- High Viscosity Non-Slump Formula: Maintains form during vertical or overhead application, allowing smooth, clean joint lines.
- Movement Capability ±35%: Accommodates significant joint movement without cracking or loss of adhesion.
- Certified Performance: Conforms to ISO11600 F25LM and G25LM, ASTM C920, and EN15651 standards for façade, glazing, and sanitary use.
- Anthracite Colour Finish: Delivers a refined, contemporary joint line ideal for use with grey-toned aluminium, composite, and architectural façade systems.
Applications
- Perimeter Sealing: Around uPVC, aluminium, and timber windows and doors, internally and externally.
- Curtain Wall and Panel Joints: For sealing pre-formed façade panels and structural glazing.
- Glass and Metal Joints: Suitable for glass-to-glass, glass-to-metal, and glazing perimeter seals.
- Roof and Parapet Weatherproofing: Used in sealing parapets, coping joints, and roofing terminations.
- Expansion Joints: Ideal for movement joints in both horizontal and vertical substrates.
- Insulated Glass Units: For bedding and perimeter sealing of IGU assemblies.
Installation Guidance
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and contaminants before application.
- Priming: Priming is not required for most substrates; however, use Silicone Primer P1 on porous surfaces and Primer NP2 on aluminium if necessary.
- Application Temperature: Apply between +5°C and +40°C for optimum performance.
- Joint Design: Maintain correct joint proportions with a depth no greater than 50% of width, using a backer rod where necessary.
- Tooling: Tool sealant within 30–45 minutes to achieve a smooth finish and ensure full contact with joint sides.
- Cleaning: Remove uncured sealant with white spirit; cured material must be removed mechanically.
Compliance & Performance
- Material Composition: Alkoxy-based, neutral cure silicone.
- Hardness and Elasticity: Shore A hardness 20–30; elongation at break >200%; elastic recovery >80%.
- Temperature Resistance: Service range from -50°C to +150°C.
- Movement Accommodation: ±35% (ASTM C719) and ±25% (ISO11600).
