Product Overview
Everbuild B1 Fire Rated Expanding Foam is a one-component polyurethane foam designed for controlled application directly from the can. It provides a high-performance fire-resistant seal for construction joints, service penetrations, door frames, and window surrounds, forming a durable barrier against fire, smoke, and air movement.
The foam expands up to 50 times its original volume, filling irregular or wide cavities that conventional fillers cannot reach. Once cured, it delivers excellent adhesion to most building materials, including brick, concrete, plaster, metal, and timber.
Its formulation allows for cutting, sawing, or plastering just one hour after application, supporting efficient progress on active job sites. The 750ml size offers optimal yield for professional use, expanding to approximately 40 litres when fully cured.
Features & Benefits
- High Fire Rating: Classified to DIN 4102 Part 1, achieving Class B1 performance for up to four hours’ fire resistance when properly installed.
- Effective Gap Filling: Expands up to 50 times its can volume, ensuring complete coverage in irregular voids and joints.
- Fast Curing: Cures rapidly to allow trimming or plastering within one hour of application, minimising downtime on site.
- Strong Adhesion: Bonds securely to most common construction materials including masonry, metal, and timber.
- Acoustic Insulation: Closed-cell structure provides effective sound dampening in addition to its thermal and fire-resistant properties.
- Hand-Held Application: Simple trigger design for direct use without the need for an applicator gun, ideal for quick installation or repair work.
- Size – 750ml Can: Expands to approximately 40 litres of cured foam, providing extensive coverage from a single unit.
Applications
- Door and Window Installation: Creates a fire-rated seal around frames to prevent smoke and flame spread.
- Service Penetrations: Fills gaps around pipes, conduits, and cable entries in walls or floors.
- Structural Gaps and Cavities: Suitable for sealing irregular joints or voids in concrete, stone, brick, and plaster.
- Thermal and Acoustic Insulation: Used behind cladding, soffit, and barge boards to reduce heat loss and noise transmission.
Installation Guidance
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, sound, and lightly moistened to promote adhesion and controlled expansion.
- Application Method: Shake the can vigorously and apply foam in layers, allowing expansion to fill voids without overfilling.
- Curing and Finishing: Allow to cure for approximately one hour before cutting, trimming, or plastering over the foam.
- Storage and Handling: Store upright in original packaging at the recommended temperature, away from direct sunlight or frost.
Compliance & Performance
- Fire Classification: Meets DIN 4102 Part 1 requirements, rated Class B1 with fire resistance up to four hours (BS476 Part 20:1987).
- Test Certification: Independently tested under Warrington Fire Report Nos. 160899 and 151680.
- Material Composition: One-component polyurethane formulation with a medium-fine closed-cell structure for strength and stability.
- Performance Range: Expands to approximately 40 litres per 750ml can, with excellent adhesion and low post-expansion.
- Important Note: Use only in well-ventilated areas and avoid contact with skin or eyes during application. Always observe fire safety and curing guidelines.
